Travelling to the Shetland Islands is easy.

Shetland enjoys excellent links with the UK Mainland and travellers should have no difficulty getting here by air or sea.

By Air

The main arrival / departure point is Sumburgh Airport at the south end of Shetland.  Most of the flights originate in Aberdeen, some from Edinburgh and Glasgow. Linking flights are available from quite a few UK and International airports.

The main operator is Loganair and, as with most operators these days, weight limits apply to your baggage.

By Sea

We enjoy a daily (overnight) ro-ro ferry service to / from Aberdeen (some journeys go via Kirkwall in the Orkney Islands) operated by Northlink Ferries.
The ferries, mv Hrossey and mv Hjaltland are both modern well appointed and comfortable vessels with ensuite cabin facilities, restaurants and, two comfortable bars.
If you require sleeping accommodation then, booking well in advance is recommended for peak season travel.
